Where Sport Meets Community.
The site now known as Rushford Park was once home to the Manchester Eagles. In 1997, Manchester Eagles shut its doors and later Manchester City Council ran the site.
In 1998-2000 Manchester Athletic Football Club was born. Then with the support of the local council and local and wider community, the centre began to go from strength to strength. Soon, we became more than a club and with our expanded services we became Manchester Youth Academy highlighting the educational aspects of our work.
Today, our site manger and team work to meet the needs of local people. In addition to the pitches, we provide an events hall which is used for classes by the young, the elderly and women and men.
We bring different communities together building community cohesion, because together we are better.
